Parish
Council
Local Planning
One of the important functions of the Parish Council is to
comment on local planning applications received by Chiltern
District Council. Our comments are taken into account but are not
necessarily accepted.
We have a planning committee, which meets every three or four
weeks at either St Leonards or Cholesbury Village Hall.
Applications may also be considered at full meetings of the Parish
Council, which take place every two months. Agendas for all these
meetings are posted on the Council's Notices board at Buckland
Common and at other notice boards throughout the Parish.
Unfortunately, due to the timetable for processing planning
applications, these are posted at fairly short notice.
Members of the public are welcome, and encouraged, to
attend all meetings of the Council, including meetings of the
Planning Committee. You will be given an opportunity to speak on
specific planning applications or any other matters affecting the
Parish, if you so wish.
If you have an interest in a particular planning application you
are usually invited to look at the plans at the District Council's
office in Amersham, where the staff will give you expert advice on
planning matters. Applications are also available to view online
here.
Meeting minutes
The Agendas and Minutes of the parish council meetings are
posted on the notice boards. These are located at Cholesbury Common
(in the cricket club car park), Buckland Common (next to the post
box), St Leonards (outside the parish hall), The Vale (outside the
Black Horse pub), and also, if possible, at the blacksmith's
noticeboard in Hawridge.
They may also be read here.
